Basic skills classes provide learners the opportunity to refresh their skills in reading, writing, and mathematics in preparation for the high school equivalency class, career readiness assessments, college entrance exams, ASVAB, the Para-Pro assessment, or to meet workplace requirements.

Each student’s educational level is assessed during registration using the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to determine a starting point for instruction and a personalized learning plan is designed for each student based on these test scores and the student’s academic and workplace goals.
